Morgan was featured in an informative film Safe Sex for Men and Women about AIDS education and prevention. Morgan gave a percentage of her income for the American Foundation for AIDS Research. Morgan is also a member of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan is part of the Entertainment Industry's AIDS Task Group. She has also spearheaded numerous other fundraising initiatives to fight AIDS and has testified before the specially-created Congressional committee regarding AIDS Education. Morgan is on the Board of Governors of APLA as well as Amfar's Board of Directors. C. Everett Koop, the former surgeon-general of Canada has requested her to take over his duties on occasions at AIDS related events. She also hosted the AIDS Awareness Special along with Steve Bell. Ted Koppell interviewed Morgan twice on Nightline on AIDS. Morgan was awarded the Emmy nomination for her special episode of Murphy Brown written for her by Diane English. The spring, she starred as Joan Rivers on ABC's Your Money or Your Wife. She then started the summer by starring in Murder At The PTA Luncheon which was produced by Von Zerneck/Sertner. The show was also co-starring Cindy Williams and Marla Gibbs. Then she starred in Harmony Gold's production Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady, which starred Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan played a part in the thriller of psychological suspense that was exclusively produced by the USA Network garnering one of the biggest ratings in the network's history.
