Dua Lipa is an English artist and singer. She was born on 22 August 1995 within London United Kingdom. The model signed with Warner Bros Records after a few years of working and put out a self-titled album in 2017. The album reached the third place on the U.K. Chart for Albums. There were eight songs released including Be The Only I.D.G.A.F. and New Rules (UK number one). It also peaked at the number 6 spot within the United States. Lipa has been awarded Brit Awards in 2018 for the categories of British Female Artist and British Breakthrough Act. In addition, her platinum album has been praised across multiple countries. She was born to Kosovo Albanian parents Anesa Rexha and Dukagjin Lipa. Her maternal grandmother is Bosnian. Her family tree can be tracked back to Peja, the Kosovo city of Peja. The two grandfathers of Lipa were historians. Gjin along with Rina are her twins. Her musical inspirations come from her father who was the guitarist and singer of Kosovan the rock group Oda. In the family, her father would continue to perform music, including own compositions and songs by David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead Sting The Police and Stereophonics. Lipa was only five when she first began to sing. When she was nine years old, Lipa started to sing at the Sylvia Young Theater School. Lipa performed Beautiful by Christina Aguilera and If I Ain't You You by Alicia Keys on YouTube. The year 2014 was the year that Lipa was signed to a contract to Warner Bros. Records. New Love, Lipa's debut single was released on August 2015.
